More About the ANOC

The American National Opera Company is a new International opera company based in the New York area, performing at major theaters in New York and touring the US and Canada with fully staged productions at major theaters and venues.

One of our goals is to move into Lincoln Center within a few seasons and begin to become the sister company to the world famous Metropolitan Opera.  We are establishing residencies in a number of major theatres. The American National Opera Company will produce gala concerts alongside their fully staged productions. These productions take advantage of  new technology in computerized projections for set and production design, while respecting traditional theatrical values.

Using modern computer technology (CGI) familiar to audiences from today's epic films, our aim is to attract young audiences to the opera house. By combining traditional operas with modern visual effects and great singing, we hope to expand the appeal of this cherished art form well into the next century.

The American National Opera Company is an Opera Company committed to producing Opera performances throughout the country. Additionally, the organization will also make fine arts accessible to children by producing operas and events for children, supporting and establishing arts education programs and workshops for children - particularly those less fortunate. The organization also aims to provide opportunities for new talent. It is a goal that these efforts foster in communities and young people a love for the arts (including fine arts such as Opera, music, dance, film, animation and more). Arts fuel humanity. The American National Opera Company exists to support this humanity, and make it accessible to all.

Fulfilling this great mission is a large and necessary undertaking. Fine arts programs have been slowly fading away from the modern American society, creating a void to be filled by less sophisticated forms of human expression which may lack the skill, heart, and creativity found in the classical fine arts. Ultimately, it’s the children and future generations who unknowingly suffer. Today’s children may never experience being moved, inspired, or touched by the fine arts as so many of us more seasoned citizens have been. The American National Opera Company's main repertoire cosists of the traditional Italian, French and German opera, but we are interested in bringing to life lesser known works by the various composers, operas in English, and developing new works. We want to bring back a "Golden Age of Opera" when big, beautiful and expressive voices reigned supreme, but keeping today's sensibility for dramtic and theatrical values. We also want to present young American artists as well as emerging international talents to our audiences as we travel throughour the continent on our tours.

One of the ways the American National Opera Company will find these gifted artists will be through an annual vocal competition designed to find and develop the opera stars of tomorrow. By televising and streaming this competition, the audiences who watch and listen in their living rooms will then experience the thrill of these voices live in theaters or on streaming video. Prizes could range from large cash prizes, sponsor prizes, scholarships, travel stipends to contract to appear at important opera houses and festivals.
