The American National Opera Company is a new professional opera company performing at major theaters on tour throughout the entire US and Canada with fully staged productions. Our goal is to build residencies in several theaters throughout the country, from a few weeks to as much as two months. These residencies are designed to provide the very best in live opera to communities who have never had, or find it difficult to financially support their own opera company. With the ANOC as a visiting resident company, local communities will be able to enjoy "their own" opera company just for the price of the tickets.  

 

As the residencies develop, so will relationships with local symphony orchestras, free-lance musicians and choral singers. One of our key purposes is to provide more work to local musicians. 

 

In addition to the much-loved standard repertoire of Italian, French and German operas, we plan on presenting important operas in English and newer works that deserve to be performed. We are developing several works, including some smaller-scale works for smaller venues, to augment our more traditional offerings. All of these productions seek to utilize new technologies and digital projections that bring unprecedented realism and visual excitement to live theater.

 

As a performing organization, the ANOC is committed to presenting the most beautiful and exciting voices we can find. We want to bring about a new "Golden Age of Opera." The singers we present fill the theaters with the excitement and drama that only large, lush voices can provide. We fully expect this combination of tours and residencies, great performances with great performers, and a new visual dimension to traditional operas to greatly increase the audiences for opera for several generations to come.
