Ventseslav Anastasov, baritone
Ventseslav Anastassov was born in 1971 in Rousse, Bulgaria in the family of the eminent Bulgarian opera singers Maria Ventseslavova and Anastas Anastassov. He started his music education in the National School of Arts in his home town in the class of Maestro Georgi Deliganiev and later graduated from the Bulgarian Academy of Music under the guide of Prof.Asen Selimski.
In the last years the young Bulgarian baritone had the possibility to collaborate with some of the biggest names in the opera world, as Mastero Lorin Maazel, with whom he sang in the role of Rodrigo from “Don Carlos” and this of Escamillo from “Carmen”, Maetsro Zubin Mehta in the production of “Turandot”.
In the production of the Metropolitan Opera “Iphigénie en Tauride” he performed together with the great Placido Domigo on the stage of Palau de Las Arts in Valencia, Spain.
In the last season the baritone’s memorable performances are in the role of Sancho Panza in the production of “Don Quixote” on the stage of the Sofia National Opera, the role of Rigoletto on the open-air stage of Opern Festspiele Römersteinbruch St. Margaretten in Burgenland, CH, at Teatro Liceo de Barcelona, Opera Valencia,Opera Verdi Trieste Opera de Monte Carlo, Classic Openair Festival in Solothurn, CH, in Salzburg Grossesfestspielhaus and many others.
Among his last extraordinary stage experience from the current season, was the baritone’s participation in the production of TURANDOT in the opening night of the new Guangzhou Opera House. The production was directed by Chen Kaige and conducted by Lorin Maazel.
